Summer on the Square Heats Up with Bi-Weekly Events!

Get ready for summer at Shaker Square! We’re excited to announce the return of “Summer on the Square.” This year, we will be hosting a bi-weekly concert series on Thursday nights featuring live music by beloved Cleveland artists.

Mark your calendars and bring your lawn chairs or blankets! The fun kicks off tonight, Thursday, May 30th, at 6pm with a Summer Kick Off featuring The Unit Band and giant lawn games.

These free, family-friendly events are the perfect way to unwind and connect with the community. Enjoy live music, explore offerings from Shaker Square businesses and organizations, and take advantage of complimentary activities throughout the evening.

And, throughout the summer, look forward to themed evenings like “Art for All” with global music and painting activities, and “Circus Fun” with live performers and face painting. We’ll also have Jazz & Funk, Dance nights, and more exciting themes to be revealed soon! Don’t forget to explore the diverse restaurants at Shaker Square before or after the event to complete your summer night out.

Join us for “Summer on Shaker Square” and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our community under the summer sky! To learn more, check out the Events page.

Voices of the Square: Stroll the Square Event Recap

On May 2nd, the community came together for the vibrant and engaging “Stroll the Square” event! With an estimated attendance of 200 residents, the square buzzed with activity and lively discussions about the future. Over 230 slices of Captain Tony’s Pizza were enjoyed, fueling the energetic conversations that produced 436 comments and ideas.

Key suggestions from the community included enhancing connections to surrounding neighborhoods, ensuring safe crossings and walkways for pedestrians, and creating a dedicated hangout spot. There was a strong call for a space for artists and makers, additional security measures, more event programming, and robust support from local businesses. Attendees also emphasized the need for family-friendly spaces and playgrounds.
